From A24, the studio that brought audiences “Everything Everywhere All at Once”, and CMC Pictures comes the English Dub of “Ne Zha 2”, the highest-grossing animated film with over $2 billion under its belt.

According to A24, “Ne Zha 2” centers around “a rebellious young boy, Ne Zha,” who “is feared by the gods and born to mortal parents with wild, uncontrolled powers. Now he’s faced with an ancient force intent on destroying humanity, he must grow up to become the hero the world needs.” The film tackles themes of parental sacrifice, dedication, and the pursuit of justice.

The dubbed English version of the film was announced in April. The trailer was released on July 22, a month ahead of the film’s release date of August 22 in the U.S., Canada, Australia, and New Zealand.

Earlier this month, Michelle Yeoh was announced to star alongside Crystal Lee, Vincent Rodriguez III, and Aleks Le in the voice cast of “Ne Zha 2”, where she will voice Ne Zha’s mother. In 2023, Yeoh became the first Asian star to win Best Actress at the Academy Awards for her role in “Everything Everywhere All at Once.”

According to Variety, the actress said in a statement, “I’m honored to be part of ‘Ne Zha 2’, a landmark in Chinese animation and a powerful reminder of how universal our stories can be. Sharing this with audiences in English is such a joy, and I can’t wait for everyone to experience the wonder, heart, spectacular artistry and magic of this film on the big screen.”
